Serena Williams Talks Recess, Spelling Bees, and #BestSchoolDay

Serena Williams continues to inspire young kids to do their best and be their best. She has teamed up with the project #BestSchoolDay, a national fundraising movement to ensure students have the supplies and opportunities they need to succeed.

Serena says the reason she was inspired to be a part of #BestSchoolDay is that "Having a good education has opened up so many different doors for me and I know that it can do the same for everyone out there." She will be funding schools in Compton (where she's from) to help with supplies and other things needed to help students have their best school day.

Watch Serena share a personal story about her #BESTSCHOOLDAY

Serena's father raised her to be confident, powerful, and resilient and it is clear in how she carries herself on and off the court. She is stylish, graceful, and always humble.

Watch Serena own her resiliency by reciting Dr. Maya Angelou's powerful poem Still I Rise during her acceptance speech for Sports Illustrated's 2015 Person of the Year.
