Lula B.

Hello - I'm Lula B.  I am very excited to be a part of this community.  We Gullah- Geechees are a special people.  Our history is interesting and inpiring.  I'm still amazed by how much of our history has been hidden from us and how much of our light has been dimmed.  I write about anything and everything that I think will uplift others. I share things I'm learning as I'm learning them.

If you ever find that I've left out an important fact or that there's more to the story...please let me know.  Just drop a line on our CONTACT US page and I will be sure to respond!

Ari Kuumba

Hello, I'm Ari Kuumba. Kuumba is Swahili for creativity, which is fitting because I love to create!  I hope you enjoy taking this journey of self discovery with me. My role here is to find the lessons in current events.  Sometimes I compare them to things that happened in the past and see how we can use these lessons to become better people.

I'm the first to admit that I don't know everything. I'm simply trying to understand this world we live in and make sense of it all.  Feel free to comment on my stories on Facebook or send me an email of your thoughts. I love to hear other people's perspectives.

Looking forward to connecting with you!

Edith Stokes

Greetings! I'm Edith Stokes - I've spent a lot of years in the Education field.  I love sharing stories I think will inspire people to seek knowledge.  I also share stories about our people; people who remind of the strength and resilience we possess.  If you like (or don't like) something you read, let me know.  I love feedback and love to hear what others think!

April McCalister

I'm a teenager trying to navigate positively through the different messages society sends me every moment of every day.  I know there's still a lot for me to learn, but one thing I know for sure is that I'm proud of where I come from. The more I learn, the stronger I become.

I hope I can inspire girls (and boys) to be themselves because who they are is awesome. The world would be very boring if we were all alike.

PS. I'm a middle school girl who loves filmmaking, gaming, dolls, and making jokes. Yes- we exist, there's a ton of us!
